He was born in Independence, Mississippi, U.S. He joined the U.S. Army in 2005 and served as an infantryman assigned to the 1st Battalion 36th Infantry Regiment. After a year deployed to Iraq in its dangerous Anbar Province, Humphreys was transferred to Fort Riley, Kansas. He left the Army when his enlistment ended on June 4, 2008, and has already landed a part in an upcoming World War II film, Pathfinders: In the Company of Strangers. Humphreys is currently attending the University of North Alabama and is currently living in Florence, Alabama.[citation needed]
